WHAT WE DO...
Regularly you can find teams of Compassion Belfast volunteers on the streets of Belfast sitting on the pavement or in shop doorways with a person who is homeless, rough sleeping or in the grip of addiction.
We offer a hot drink, some refreshments, practical help in any way we can and signposting to other professional support agencies.
Is a safe and comfortable space for people to receive emergency supplies of food and essentials through a time of crisis.
Open every Monday evening from 7 – 8.30pm., it’s here where we come face to face with stories of poverty, hardship, debt crisis, relationship breakdown and people who sometimes just have nowhere else to turn to receive help. As well as supplying people with food, our volunteers are a ‘listening ear’ often at a time when it is critically needed.
Individuals are invited to The LIVING Room through a network of referral partners.
Base Project is a project studio and creative facility which equips people to tell their story through the arts and media; inspiring and paving the way for up and coming musicians and creatives by doing so.
Our project studio provides quality recording facilities for local artists - to work with our in-house team to produce high quality material to progress their creative and musical pursuits to the next level. The income from hiring our studio is used to fund Base Project Tuition - formal music education to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
New To You is a shop operated by Compassion Belfast, selling pre-loved clothing, furniture and home furnishings.
The shop also offers a space where our team of volunteers find purpose, social interaction and self-worth.

Located at 77 Donegall Pass in South Belfast, The Tool Box is a space where individuals can pursue practical interests, share skills, learn skills and enjoy social interaction while working on projects that bring a sense of self-worth, purpose and achievement.

OPEN EVERY WEDNESDAY 10am - 4pm.
The Tool Box soon hopes to facilitate:
Formal training and education.
Healthy Mind, Body and Wellbeing
information workshops.
“How To” classes covering a range of topics.
In Side By Side we hope to stand/walk/journey with an individual experiencing the poverty of loneliness by providing, where necessary, practical help but more importantly the gift of our companionship
Through organised group events and activities
friendship, social inclusion and interaction is facilitated.
By building relationships with individuals facing ‘life issues’ on their own, where possible, a Compassion Belfast volunteer can offer their companionship when, for example, someone needs to attend an appointment.
At the end of the year we launch Project Christmas Box where we liaise with local partners who make known to us children facing the prospect of waking up on Christmas morning and not receiving a gift.
We invite people to chose a gift tag that has a child’s age and gender on it, buy and gift wrap a toy for that young person then return it for us to pass on to where the need is.
The family of that child will also receive a food hamper from Compassion Belfast.
Throughout the summer months Compassion Belfast rolls into local neighbourhoods with our Fun In A Box project, where we set up a street party for local children.
Complete with Bouncy Castles, Cage Football, Arts and Crafts and an on-street barbecue, these events are all free of charge with the sole aim of a local community having a few hours of fun!
